It’s already been a week since we left Vancouver.

Our first stop was in Revelstoke, a small city of 8000 people in the interior of British Columbia. This place is pretty famous amongst ski enthusiasts, it has the greatest vertical of the resorts in North America and it is also paradise for heli skiing.

After a day of skiing at Revy, we stayed with John & Bridget, who generously offered us to stay with them. John & Bridget are a lovely couple that are friends with Shannon. Shannon was one of Carole’s co-workers, which quickly became one of our friends.

After Revy, we spent two days in Roger pass, a famous backcountry skiing area. It received about 50 cm of fresh snow in two days, so we decided to pick conservative routes (Balu Pass and Grizzly shoulder) to avoid big exposure to avalanche terrain.

We went back to Revelstoke to spend another night with John & Bridget, we shared some good dumplings together at a local restaurant, Kevin’s Kitchen.

The following day, we decided to go to Sun Peaks resort… Yes, if you look at a map, Sun Peaks is about 3h30 back towards the west. We wanted to spend a day with our Vancouver’s friends who were there for the long weekend!

We are now back to Roger pass, the temperature is warmer than the -10°C we had in the van around Sun Peaks.  We are hoping to score another good day of backcountry skiing, if the weather and the avalanche conditions are ok.

After that we will be headed towards Lake Louise and Banff.
